Executive Coaching
Coaching is a highly individualized process because people are highly individualized. While many techniques work to a degree, simply following guidelines from a book doesn’t work as well as a coaching program that is custom-tailored to the individual, with a blend of observation, assessment, consulting, learning, mentoring, business advisory and feedback. Thus our coaching programs are as unique as the individual and our goal is to provide our clients an unparalleled coaching experience no matter if it is for career enhancement, business leadership development or skill set tweaking.
Generally the coaching process itself consists of five phases:
Phase 1: Relationship Building: Coach and client meet to obtain agreement regarding terms of engagement, roles and responsibilities, commitment, information sharing, and confidentiality. In this case this was completed during our initial discussion. However, additional discussions of focus will be required to detail the scope of the work.
Phase 2: Assessment & Development Opportunity Analysis and Feedback: Very early in the process, the client is requested to complete Profile Assessment – a state-of-the-art online profile that provides insight into their natural tendencies. The tool used will depend on the client’s needs to enhance self awareness on an emotional and character quotient level.
Phase 3: Coaching and Action Plan Development: Building on the client’s increased awareness of self, areas of focus and goals and objectives leads to the creation of an action plan. Client(s) and Coach will meet to discuss phase one and two in greater detail and identify these goals and objectives, strengths, weakness, opportunities linked to corporate business goals and threats that should be addressed. The outcome is a mutually agreed focus.
Based on our initial discussions focus would be around career planning and business leader development. It is important to provide one to one coaching on strategic issues as they arise and provide advice on professional development to build your leadership and senior management business skills.
Phase 4: Coaching to Action Plan Implementation: Through a variety of approaches and blended learning methods, the client and the coach work together to create planned, sustained development and activities to move the client closer to the desired outcome. An implementation Action Plan and Road Map is one key to success.
Phase 5: Evaluate Progress, Support and Business Advisory: At the end of the program, expectations and outcomes are revisited to ensure success. An important component is to ensure that the coaching client has the tools and support at their disposal to be successful.
The client and coaching process tends to be iterative. The goal is to create a viable plan that all parties agree to. Often the process is about identifying challenges and direction, establishing solution options, implementing the solution and measuring results for bottom-line impact.
